Organic Baby Wash Cloths: Lessons Learned & Favorite Finds

I only share products I genuinely love and use myself or for my family. If you purchase through my links, I may earn a small commission—at no extra cost to you. Thank you for supporting my work in this little corner of the internet!

Baby washcloths feel like such a small purchase… until you realize you’ll use them constantly. After three kids and more wash cycles than I can count, I’ve finally landed on the brands I genuinely love—and the ones I don’t plan to repurchase.

I started out with Keababies Baby Washcloths, and honestly, I was impressed from day one. The bamboo viscose is incredibly soft and plush, and those washcloths held up beautifully for my first two kids. By baby number three (five years later), they were ready for retirement. I would’ve happily bought them again, but curiosity got the best of me and I decided to try something new. Spoiler: I regretted it.

KeaBabies Washcloths

Price: $13.96 for most colors
Pros:

  • Extremely soft bamboo viscose

  • Great price point

Cons:

  • No hanging loops

These continue to be such a solid, budget-friendly option. Soft, durable, and gentle on baby skin.

Note: Keababies also has an organic cotton washcloth option that I haven’t tried.

HonestBaby Organic Cotton Washcloths

Price: $12.99 (no loops) • $18.40 (with loops)
Pros:

  • Organic cotton

Cons:

  • Least soft of all the washcloths I’ve tried

  • Lose shape and color over time

I might be pickier than the average reviewer, because these actually have a lot of positive feedback online. But next to Keababies, they feel noticeably less soft. Mine also discolored in spots—even though I don’t use harsh laundry products—and they don’t hold their shape, so they fold unevenly. Not a dealbreaker for everyone, but enough of one for me that I won’t repurchase.

Mushie Organic Muslin Washcloths

Price: $16.99
Pros:

  • Softest of all three options

  • Hanging loops included

  • Lovely colorways and designs

  • Well-made and absorbent

Cons:

  • About $3 more than Keababies

When it came time to replace the Honest set, I decided to go with Mushie. I’ve loved every Mushie product I’ve tried—from bath toys to feeding items—so these felt like a safe bet. And they absolutely are.

These washcloths are incredibly soft, beautifully designed, and surprisingly absorbent considering the muslin cotton is a thinner material. The built-in hanging loops are such a bonus for quick air-drying. Honestly, they just feel special.

Final Takeaway

If you’re trying to keep baby costs in check, go with Keababies—they’re soft, affordable, and dependable.
If you’re willing to spend a few extra dollars for the softest, prettiest washcloths with hanging loops, Mushie wins by a mile.
